Just had a cool chat with James from Mystery Mod Co. while he was watching Game of Thrones; if anyone is wondering, his two favorite characters are Tyrion Lannister & Arya Stark -- such a nice guy with a very bright mindset about vaping for the future, have a look at what questions we asked him today :
What was your inspiration behind starting up this company?
We started this company with the intent to give creative ideas and the people behind them a platform to release new and interesting designs.
And When exactly did you guys release your first finished product and was there an event you did the releasing at?
We soft released the Surreal Mod about a month ago. The Lostronaut debuted at VPX Vegas. Event wise we haven't really done so much; People haven't had a chance to discover our brand and product yet so we are focusing more on getting the name out for right now! --- But the Surreal is the 3rd mod I've done and the Lostronaut is the 5th atty (2 of which were prototyped but remain unreleased)
What is your most successful product at the moment?
Currently our most successful is the Lostronaut. It has a bit of buzz around it. I think the buzz will grow significantly over the next few weeks as we do more promotions!
What makes the Lostronaut stand out amongst all the other atomizers, what are some specks on it?
We did a lot of development on this one. It addresses a lot of customer feedback I got from my last atomizer -- The deck allows a lot of freedom as to how you build it, Plus the choice of sleeves and tops takes it from a small chamber flavor atty to a cloud monster. The surprising part is how much flavor is maintained at the max airflow set up. Upon picking one up, I highly recommend experimenting with it. There's a lot of options.
What would you say the Lostronaut is comparable to?
That's sort of a tough answer. The flat deck changes the dynamics of the airflow. It's very much it's own feel. -------------------------------------------------
COP or DROP?
Lostronaut RDA Mystery Mod Co. Price: $150
Experience: We picked up the limited edition of the VPX version in Las Vegas 2 weeks ago and have been testing it out with the few accessories that it has. In its basic form of utilizing just the TOP Air Flow (No Adjustability) it has the perfect amount of draw and airflow! Flavor is good from it. With the Cloud kit (which came together in our VPX edition, its a standard feel, but the flavor is much more prominent as we think its because there are no posts blocking the backside of the coils so the air flows all around the heating element. Building on this deck is super fun! It reminds us of the Kayfun or 528 Customs Monster V3 and as more builders get their hands on this you will definitely see some more creative variations on this as there is so much room to do interesting builds!
Machining. Quality craftsmanship does not seem to be the best. Many of the edges on the cap and the deck are very sharp.
Packaging: Nice, but does not have a wow factor
Production: Limited amount of Production 200-250 units per batch
Ease of Use: The build deck is easy, but removing the sleeve is incredibly difficult, which is great because it prevents any leakage from the juice well, but a pain if you want to change cotton.
Price: Costs more than a lot of mods and the quality does not match its worth.
Flat post design
Ultem Insulator (Strength and heat resistance in between Delrin and PEEK, but brittle)
